Summary
Tang Siu-chun (鄧兆尊), long known for outspoken public appearances, became a talking point online after a media interview at a public event in which he repeatedly prompted TVB entertainment reporter and host Chung Chui-sze (鍾翠詩) to speak. Video from the scene showed Tang in high spirits, answering questions readily and repeatedly turning to Chung, telling her to “ask anything” and not be nervous. After the clip circulated, some netizens joked that Tang seemed especially interested in Chung, while others suggested his warmth was linked to her resemblance to his former rumoured partner Chan Yin-hang (陳彥行). The discussion also shifted to Chung’s performance as a reporter, with criticism from some viewers and a measured response from Chung herself, who thanked Tang for his guidance and said she would continue to work hard.
Key Points
- During the interview, Tang repeatedly encouraged Chung Chui-sze to ask questions, telling her to relax and saying he would answer even though he was not from TVB.
- When Chung appeared nervous and only followed up with one question about his emcee work, Tang still asked at the end whether she had enough material.
- Online comments focused on Tang’s special attention, with some viewers saying he looked unusually happy and others speculating he was interested in Chung.
- Some netizens said Chung resembled Chan Yin-hang, a woman previously linked to Tang in rumour, and suggested that similarity explained his especially warm treatment.
- Chung, now an on-location host for TVB’s Entertainment News Report, was first runner-up in the 2023 Miss Chinese Vancouver pageant and reached the top 10 in Miss Hong Kong 2024.
Why It Matters
The episode shows how a brief red-carpet style exchange can quickly become a wider online debate about celebrity behaviour, media performance and appearance-based comparisons in Hong Kong entertainment culture. It also puts attention on newer TVB personalities such as Chung Chui-sze, whose public image is now being shaped not only by her work but also by viral clips and audience commentary.
