Summary
A roughly 15-second dashcam clip shared online shows a white private car apparently travelling against traffic on Tuen Mun Road toward Tsuen Wan in the early hours of Monday. The car then moved into the middle lane and narrowly missed both a yellow light goods vehicle and the filming car before the video ended, with no confirmed information on any later crash or injuries.
Key Points
- SingTao said the incident happened at about 12:34am on Monday, October 26, on Tuen Mun Road in the Tsuen Wan-bound direction near a large noise barrier close to Sham Tseng
- The filming vehicle was travelling in the fast lane when the white private car suddenly appeared ahead, apparently coming from the opposite direction on the same carriageway.
- A yellow light goods vehicle in the middle lane swerved left to avoid the white car, while the filming driver braked sharply and the two cars passed each other at close range.
- A female passenger in the filming car can be heard shouting that the driver was crazy, while on.cc described the male driver as stopping in panic after spotting the oncoming vehicle
- The clip ended after about 15 seconds, and SingTao said it was unclear whether any collision later occurred or whether anyone was injured
Why It Matters
The footage has triggered online concern because a wrong-way vehicle on a high-speed trunk road can leave other drivers with almost no time to react. With the clip ending before the aftermath is shown, key unanswered questions include how the car entered that stretch and whether authorities will trace the driver from the video
